Indian Railways has announced AC local trains in the country

INDIA-MUMBAI: The new announcement is part of the withdrawal of passenger model trains. Suburban trains are the first to be converted into AC trains on an experimental basis. A plan has been prepared to upgrade Mumbai suburban service trains under Western Railway to AC coaches by September.

For second-class travel on passenger trains, a single ticket for a distance of 150 km is charged at Rs 35. Now one has to pay more than Rs.350 to travel this distance in AC coaches. However, a 65 km journey in the new AC local class trains will cost Rs 30. In AC local, the basic fare for a monthly season ticket for a distance of 65 km in AC class will be around Rs 600. The minimum basic fare for a single journey up to five km in AC class is Rs. Railways has also clarified that the fare will be Rs 10 and the monthly tickets will cost around Rs 200.
