The holy Paralokamata shrine at the famous Kamanayakkanpatti near Kovilpatti in Thoothukudi district will be held from the 6th to the 15th. Palai Diocese Bishop Anthonysamy said that due to the Corona curfew restrictions, the main events of the festival such as Flagiyetam, Tirutheer stroll and Mercy Stroll have been cancelled and only Tirupali will be held.

At Manayakanpatti near Kovilpatti in Thoothukudi district, there is a famous holy Paralokamata shrine where Veerama Munivar served as a priest. In this 5 centuries old temple, Vinnelupu Festival is held every year in the month of August with much fanfare. Last year the festival was not held due to the Corona lockdown. It has been announced that the Vinnylepu Festival will be held this year with Corona restrictions as the Corona lockdown restrictions will continue this year.

In this regard, Palai Diocese Bishop Anthonysamy speaking to the media today at Kamanayakkanpatti said that due to the corona virus, the festival will be held in a simple manner with social distance and no frills. He said that the devotees will be allowed to watch the mass and that the number of mass has been increased to avoid gathering of devotees during the mass and arrangements have been made to broadcast the Mass on the internet and local television so that people can easily watch the Mass. The interview was attended by Kamanayakanpatti Punitaparaloka Mata Trithala Panchayat Father Anthony Cruz, Vandanam Panchayat Masillamani and others.
