Alankanallur/India: Alankanallur jallikattu competition will be awarded with one car each for the best cowherd, bull, reservation for bull and cowherd through online, Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi said in an interview to Minister Murthy.
As the world famous Madurai Alankanallur jallikattu competition is going to be held on 17th, the preparatory work for the same started today with Mukurthakal planting ceremony. Mugurthakal was planted after special poojas were performed at Muthalamman Temple near Alankanalloo Vadivasal. Minister Murthy, District Collector Anish Shekhar, District Superintendent of Police Sivaprasad and the function committee attended the event.
After the planting of Moogurthakaal, the work of painting the Alankanallur wadivasal and setting up a gallery will begin. Jallikattu is going to be held on 15th in Avaniyapuram Madurai, 16th in Balamet and 17th in Alankanallur. Bull owners are training bulls to participate in this jallikattu. For the cowherds who want to catch the bulls, they are getting various training including setting up a temporary wadi gate and catching the bulls.
At present, the bulls who are going to participate in the jallikattu competition are being given the qualification certificate for the bulls in accordance with the government regulations in the Kalthanai hospitals across the district.
Speaking to the press following the Mukurthakal planting work, Minister Murthy said: The work for jallikattu competition has started in Madurai district. Alankanallur jallikattu competition will give one car to the best bull and cowherd, gold coin will be awarded to all the bulls participating in Alankanallur jallikattu competition, reservation for bulls and cowherds will be done online.
