- The community population reduced to 25% of Tulunadu natives dying!
- The number of defectors from 77,000 before independence has reduced to 4,400 now.
- Tulunatu tribes are in danger of extinction!
There is a significant decrease in the number of poor communities.
India-Mangaluru: In the last 10 years, the population of coastal tribes has decreased by 25 percent, according to shocking information released by the United Nations.
The pre-independence state had a population of over 50 thousand. The community is spread over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Shimoga, Chikkamagaluru, Uttara Kannada, and Kasaragod districts. According to the 1991 census, the state had a deficit of 22,000, which declined to 18,000 in 2001, 6358 in 2011, and 4400 in 2021. It is the only fastest-growing community among the 51 tribal communities in the state.
Reason for population decline?
Anemia, malnutrition, epidemics, and deaths in the Scheduled Tribe community contribute to population decline. It is shocking that ITDB suddenly canceled the medical expenses of private hospitals last month. Ayushman card facility is reserved only for certain critical illnesses. Hence the medical expenses provided to the underprivileged society should continue.

Line of descent:
The state government has taken the report of the United Nations report on the decline of the Koraga community seriously and has ordered two private hospitals in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district to study the lineage of the Koraga community and submit a report. In this regard, Sundara Koraka, President of Koranga Sangh, said, “The 40-year-old blood test report has already been conducted in Dakshina Kannada district and it is expected that the report will come out.
