Cyclone Fengal: Deep depression intensifies into cyclonic storm

The IMD has issued heavy rain warnings for several districts in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Extremely heavy rainfall is forecast for Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, and Cuddalore. Additionally, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, and Nagapattinam, as well as the Karaikal area. Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious and follow safety advisories.

As per the instructions of the Honorable Chief Minister and on the orders of our Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and our Commander Deepasathya Madam, a special camp has been set up from Avadi(chennai). 50 people have come from the Avadi Tamil Nadu Disaster Relief Team. We have divided into two groups and are ready to come here and come to Mahabalipuram to carry out disaster relief work due to the storm.

Our rescue teams are in all districts. There are two teams in Cuddalore, Tharangambadi, Mayiladuthurai, and Chennai. We will go to the affected places as soon as we get information.

Reporter: Sir, you said that you are coming from Avadi. What kind of material is the 50-member team of the Tamil Nadu Disaster Relief Team ready for?

We have brought a total of 75 items for disaster relief, sir. They have divided them into 18 groups and sent them all over Chennai. A 50-member team has arrived here, and the B2 B3 team has arrived. The necessary materials for the rescue work are now available.

There is a structure to carry those who cannot, It is an important task to take care of the traffic without any hindrance.There is an axe. We have separated everything into tool sections and all other necessary machinery and equipment are ready .

On which order will the Collector office inform us. When the village clerk informs the Tahsildar, we are under the control of our Tahsildar. We will immediately go for rescue work, sir.

Since it is coming between Karaikal-Mamallapuram and will cross the coast this afternoon, rescue work has been done in Chengalpattu district.

Tamil Nadu Disaster Relief Team officials who came from Avadi, Chennai have come in two groups and have set up camp in Chengalpattu district.
