Transport Minister Chandra Priyanka inaugurated the pink petrol station set up exclusively for women in Puducherry. Also 100 women were given free petrol in this event.

At the petrol stations in Puducherry state, both men and women are standing in the same queue to get petrol. Due to this, women going to work have to stand in long queues and face many difficulties in filling petrol. To change this, on behalf of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, a separate pink petrol station has been set up for women at the KPM petrol station on Puducherry Laspettai ECR road.

Its opening ceremony was held today. Puducherry Transport Minister Chandra Priyanka attended as a special guest and inaugurated the petrol station specially set up for women, giving rose flowers to women who came to fill petrol and inaugurated it. Also, over a hundred women were given free petrol worth Rs 100 as a gift on the opening day.

When the women who came to fill petrol said that while going to work, the petrol station attendants stand in long queues with the men to fill petrol, causing various difficulties, they are happy that the petrol station has been set up for women only, and similarly they demanded that a separate women’s station should be set up in all the petrol stations in Puducherry.

Continuing the program, Minister Chandra Priyanka said, “100 buses in the Puducherry Transport Corporation are out of order. Steps are being taken to replace them with new buses. Pink buses for girls will be operated soon.”
