Coimbatore: The owner and a staffer of a men’s salon at RS Puram were arrested on Thursday after a 17-year-old youth sustained burn injuries to his left side of the face during a bleaching and steaming procedure on August 13.
The RS Puram police identified the arrested as U Sanjay Dhass, 32, owner of Rock Men’s Beauty Salon on Robertson Road at RS Puram, and his staffer S Vidhyanandan, 22, a native of Bihar.
A police officer said the two were booked on a complaint lodged by C Vijayakumar, 55, of Venkatakrishna Road at RS Puram, on Wednesday.
A 17-year-old boy had gone to Rock Men’s Beauty Salon to bleach his face around 6 pm on August 13. The shop owner and employee were arrested. When the salon owner and staffer took a device close to the boy’s face for steaming, hot water splashed on his face from the same. The shop owner Sanjay who said he would bear the cost of the treatment later refused to pay for the treatment. The boy sustained burn injuries in the incident,” the officer said.
Both were arrested on a complaint filed by the boy’s father and later released on bail.
The deputy police commissioner forwarded the complaint to the RS Puram police, who subsequently registered a case against the salon owner and the staffer under Section 337 of the Indian Penal Code and arrested them on Thursday. They were, however, let off on station bail later.
