On August 11, a prize-giving ceremony for the candidates of the ‘Trichy Info 200’ examination was held in Trichy as part of Sutti Vikatan’s ‘Namma Urai Nallaath Terinchupom'[Let’s get to know our town better] programs.
13,000 students appeared for the OMR sheet in 118 government and private schools. 1,400 students who won the top three positions at the school level were felicitated on stage.
Trichy Revenue Commissioner Anbazhagan, Assistant Elementary Education Officer Marudhanayakam and Chutti Star Project Principal Trainer Helix Senthilkumar were present as special guests.
Kalaik Cauvery College student’s Bharatanatyam was excellent. The hall was filled with applause for the lively speech of the show hosts Paralogam and Sr. Chutti Star Dharini.
Speaking on the occasion, Revenue Commissioner Anbazagan said, “Every student should get a good education and should know about the history of his district and the pride of the land. Self-confident students are the hope of tomorrow. We should also excel in morals,” he said.
Assistant Elementary Education Officer Maruthanayagam said, “Students are the biggest identity of the society. The event, held at the college where Abdul Kalam studied, is historic. “Info 200″ by Satti Vikatan is meant to encourage students’ interest in education,” he said.

Students of DELC School in Ponmalaipatti, Trichy presented the manimalas they made to the special guests. Lunch was served to all those who attended the program at Ongarakud, on behalf of the department.
